Short Story Analysis A Rose for Emily The sketch story A Rose for Emily written by William Faulkner is a story approximately a woman named Emily living in the townsfolks mint of Jefferson. . A Rose for Emily illustrates the theme of aging and give way down. The reference describes this by using scopery about the recline home, and in disregard Emily herself. Set in the early cardinal hundreds, the story opens with the town finding out about Emilys death. The towns people are curious about a very stuffy and confusing woman. The story is written about pivotal points in Emilys life and how the towns people spy changes with the at a time great iconic spot and family. The spring wants to give the reader an image of what the rest of the town was seeing. but Miss Emilys house was left, lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay above the cotton wagons and the petrol pumps-an eyesore among eyesores (pg 34). Describing the outside as something that has mazed its presentable looks and care, and the author describes the privileged as nothing less. He focuses on the sense of smell.
